I once had sashimi, raw fish slices on pizza, in a up-market restaurant in Daikonyama, Tokyo.! I was taken there by an English friend, and at first I was skeptical. He just urged me to try with an open mind. I did. It was wonderful. Yes, sashimi on pizza.
Really? I'm honestly a plain person when it comes to pizza. Give me pepperoni or meat lover's. Which I honestly will sound pathetic, but what concerns me if @b is correct, then forget the corn pizza if the price is so high!
Hey, they got corn on pizza here in Guangdong, China, too. That's not the worst I've seen. But here they also have pizza with sweet fruits on it. On a "pizzert," I can fathom, but on tomato sauce with cheese?! Blecch.
Dude, every time I hear about the craziest new Japanese pizza, my mind wanders back to when my brother and I would have "Worst Food Creation" contests with our friends. So far, I've yet to see someone beat the bologna, grape jelly, dill relish, expired horseradish, and something-else-I-can't-remember sandwich.
NeoDarlight, you have not tried Durian sandwich or Durian Pizza yet, specialty of SE Asia! To Durian lovers, Durian is "king of the fruits" and you either love it or hate it. To me durian smells like damp socks that have been worn for more than one week. Hotels, airplanes and my personal home, durians are not allowed.
You think pepperoni pizza is always on sale because it's the most popular. Reality is it's the most popular because it's always on sale.
If pepperoni was rarely offered on a special lower price deal and some other topping was as much as pepperoni is, then that other topping would be the most popular.
Need to figure out how to get all the large pizza chains to go for a month with the prices swapped for "Canadian" bacon and pepperoni, just to see if the peppered sausage slices hold onto the #1 spot in orders.

Every time I go back home, "pepperoni pizza" sits in the Top 5 of things I want to do after I arrive.
