He didn't know enough Japanese.

I'd bet money that if he tried, they would have honored his request and installed the blast furnace he asked for.

I swear his eye's gonna pop outta his head.

Love the comic. I think comics like this really help to bridge a few of the gaps between American and Japanese culture.

I just found your comic via a Project Wonderful ad and really enjoy it. It's great to see the experience of other expats in the world (I'm an American in the Netherlands where the cultural differences are more subtle).
