My freiend, Tyrone, has a similar problem. He's a really muscular black guy who looks like he should be playing football and is quite intimidating to most people, but he actually in a nurse and an oil painter and gets bored with sports.

Ugh. I can relate to this guy so much! Growing up, my peers really didn't expect a black kid to like anime and manga, let alone be able to speak Japanese. Sometimes I still get reactions...

Have a senior co-worker (half black half Native hawaiian) who was a professional boxer, he is really into military "combat" hapkido, super competetive in anything physical, and possibly any other stereotype you get with racially mixed folks and needing to do twice as much work to keep up with you regular folks.

But he is hella into Naruto, and Dungeons and Dragons XD Still waiting on getting his character sheet as we speak.

Being a Black woman who's into gaming, anime, and manga, I can defintely feel J's frustration!

BTW, I found your comic in Google while I was looking for another comic. I'm glad I found it.

first guy i met who could draw in a manga style was black, plus i saw some kung fu movies that the wu tang clan had done the dubs for so i'm NOT surprised when i meet a black person into anime
