Hahaha!! I can just hear it now: "Of course it's written in Japanese, silly gaijin!"

Funny comic! I just ran up on it. Sounds like a hilarious premise.

Hahaha. Reminds me of my first night in Tokyo.
I was so proud of myself for downloading and learning Hiragana before I went to Japan. And what was the first thing I saw on ALL the buildings, and in ALL the restaurant menus???
KANJI and KATAKANA. Ahhhhh! :-0

I had a similar moment when I moved to Germany. Didn't know any German - the hubby and I go out for Chinese our first night (it's a weird tradition we have when we move anywhere) and I figure, well, I know what the stuff is called.

Shock! Everything in the menu was in German, and the "Chinese" words are all for GERMAN Chinese food, not the American Chinese I'm used to. Needless to say, I felt very silly for not realizing that would happen :)
