1) is the inspiration for a comic character
2) acts ("Akira's Hip Hop Shop")
3) trains and does martial arts
4) has been a video game character

Cute, and likes video games. Definitely a keeper. And I don't think Karl's being shallow. I think he's seeing something worthwhile here, and being the good friend he is, is helping J see that he can do better.
