Somehow, it reminds me of when I had to learn handwriting in grade school. They held me back for being so terrible at it. But I probably shouldn't compare. Hope Karl doesn't give up!
I figure they might bitch at me if I practice kanji during work hours, so I just practice all the kanji I need to make comments on kid's homework assignments :D
On the other hand, I learned how to read Korean and Russian at work... we have a lot of free time.
The first time I read this I laughed, but then rereading it I really took the time to look at the principal's expression and the fact that his tone in that last panel is actually serious... am I detecting animosity? He really looks, to me, like he's genuinely trying to intimidate Karl into giving up...
