FCS122 Principal Glossy Gleam and Handwriting

Somehow, it reminds me of when I had to learn handwriting in grade school. They held me back for being so terrible at it. But I probably shouldn't compare. Hope Karl doesn't give up!

Way back in my first year here, a teacher "complimented" me on my writing.

Oh, your handwriting is much better than my child's!

Really? How old is your child?

Five!

I figure they might bitch at me if I practice kanji during work hours, so I just practice all the kanji I need to make comments on kid's homework assignments :D

On the other hand, I learned how to read Korean and Russian at work... we have a lot of free time.

The first time I read this I laughed, but then rereading it I really took the time to look at the principal's expression and the fact that his tone in that last panel is actually serious... am I detecting animosity? He really looks, to me, like he's genuinely trying to intimidate Karl into giving up...

I once knew someone who said...

" For a Culture built on the Whole, over the Individual, they sure do try hard to best eachother."

Course he could also be one of those people whose place at the top is very thin...

From the looks of it his hair alone could easily reflect lasers! That much hairspray cannot be good for you...

On the bright side, at least Karl doesn't have dysgraphia. That absolutely sucks, especially when you want to learn to draw.

How low must your self exteem be to exult your ability to write your native language over a foreigner trying it for the first time?

For some reason, I imagine Principal Glossy Gleam with George Takei's voice when I read this. XD
