Sorry to ask, but why do they have wonen only train care anyway? To avoid staring (japanese) men, or something ?

Sexual Harassment and public groping. In japan train cars get VERY full....as in they have "pushers" to shove people in as tight as possible. the women only cars are to protect them from being groped.

The groping happens in other parts of the world, too. I was in a packed subway holding a heavy bag in Mexico City 20 years ago when someone stuck his hand up the back of my shorts. Such a shame I'm a clumsy gringa and "stumbled" on to the toes of the guy whom I was very sure was doing it.

(I was not a light girl, either...)

It's been great reading through your archives. A lot of the stuff you write about reminds me of my early days in Japan. I also really like your drawing style. There's a lot of action and expressiveness in it. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing!
