FCS049 Guess who crossed the line...

Figured it might happen, but have to admit that I didn't see the MJ reference coming.

However in Carl's defense and my own experience, is that Japanese (and Asian) alcohol hits you differently then the Western style liquors. Although strangely the hangover seems to be universal.

At least you drink. Do you know how repetitive and boring and downright annoying these things are if you don't? I also don't eat a lot of Japanese food. One time at a drinking party I ate nothing but a Snickers bar I had brought with me and had a few glasses of cola they were serving. That cola cost me 6000 yen. (about $60 US at the time)

Computer Science conference for college, where half of the people attending are from Japan and China. For lunch its American food. Dinner its straight to Asian district with Karaoke afterward. First and only time trying a couple types of Asian beer and wine, not to mention I hadn't had any alcohol in over a year beforehand. Got up to sing and fell flat on face and then had one heck of a time trying to sit down in my chair.

Never drink too much

¥6000 for cola? I have visited numerous izakaya's, restaurants, and clubs in Japan and never heard of anyone spending that much on any soft-drinks. For booze, yes, but not soda.

Maybe that was an overpriced maid cafe or host/hostess club, where you pay extra for the staff to be extra friendly with you?

Too many foreigner visitors to Asia get stupidly suckered into visiting host/hostess clubs without understanding the consequences, and end up having to pay ridiculously expensive bills.

BTW, although I am not a fan of MJ and his child molesting ways, he was an exceptionally talented dancer and singer. I am envious of Karl's MJ dance moves. (Wish I could do some MJ dance moves of my own.)

Wooo! Shake it, Karl!

You know, I accidentally read "Billy Jean" as "Jelly Bean" and I couldn't figure out why he would say that. XD

At Japanese parties it's most common to split the bill evenly, so everyone at that party paid 6000 yen no matter what they ate or drank. Since I only had cola, the cola cost 6000 yen.
