Time to hit the 100 yen shop for some stationary.

By the way, I love cold green tea and cold barley tea, and drink it all the time. I guess it's a matter of personal taste.

Wow Busy, that's so gnarly. Thanks for using someone else's website as your own personal blog of the mundane stuff you do every day in Japan. It's fascinating.

Busy was just saying that it was time for Karl to hit the store, and sharing his opinion that iced green tea is delicious. Whats so bad?

Love the comics

I actually find Busy's comments to be insightful, as although I am a fan of Japan's pop-culture, I actually know very little about the country aside from what the internet and television says. Actually, come to think of it, I wonder how many of them know as much of America as I know of them?

I thought that the comment section were for anyone to add whatever thoughts they wanted that related to corresponding comic, and that others would optionally choose to read or not.

Thank you "Really" for clearing that up. I did not realize that I was *NOT* suppose to provide any type of personalize feedback for Khalid's wonderful comic that depicts many experiences I can relate to.

I am glad that "Really" was nice enough to ask me to stop posting on behalf of Khalid, since Khalid would be too nice, too polite or too timid to ask me himself. I hope that you also continue to discourage others from posting personalize comments as well.

I'm with Busy. The barley tea is excellent. I keep a cold jug in the fridge at all times.

Great comments everyone! Thank you. Feels like a real community is growing here! I love reading about personal experiences from other people who have lived or are living in Japan. There are still many things I haven't heard about and I know that everyone's experience is different. Thanks for reading!

Barley tea ftw.

Also, I think every JET I've ever met has had a similar "parked in the DOE" story. One or two unlucky ones had to stay there one day a week due to a school principal deciding they didn't need an ALT (but the ALT still had to do something for that day of the week).

I wonder how much of the comic Khalid is an exaggeration. He comes of as such an entitled and idiotic foreigner, who doesn't know much or care to know much about how people actually live in Japan.

Blagh, green tea; OMG, sleeping on the floor etc.

I like hearing about Busy's exposure and remarks about her, yes I said her, I remembered that she said that she was a she, not a shi. Ha. Now, if you can remember all of that, I have to remember to duck when, and or if, I ever get to one of those doors or I'd be kissing the ceiling. I'm 6'8.

@ Really : It's not making this website her own blog. It's saying something related on (of ?) the comic of the day.

Actually, i like to learn new things by reading the comic AND helpfull comments.

@Nlaw : The guy is not idiotic. He's just from another civ entirely. Japan look like some sci-fi version on our own country (whatever it is. France, for me), but it's actually very different society.
Far from each other are two countries, more stranger they are for each other.

It's actually, pretty normal to find foreign custom weird or even repulsive. it's instinctive, and not make the guy an awfull racist.

I agree with D. Durand. Even a countrty that's not that foreign can seem strange. I live in Canada, and sometimes American culture seems weird, so imagine how weird a different country half a world away would be.
