Don't you just hate it when you're out with friends and you're trying to talk to one person you're interested in but you just can't! I don't know why Hachiro and Yumi didn't get the picture. Anyway, looks like Karl finally got his chance. Will he have the courage to go through with asking Mai out? Stay tuned. ;)
It can be so difficult for a warrior to ask for help. Especially, a shy one who's incredibly afraid of rejection! Will the Black Samurai let go and ask for help? Let's hope that Karl will have the strength to ask Mai out on a one on one date the next time they meet!
I guess Hachiro isn't just "hot" right now. ;) It's great that he gets a chance to date regularly though. He should be more open about how he gets them. Hachiro isn't any good at lying. Personally, I think it's better to be introduced to someone through a friend or co-worker. That way, you have some confidence in knowing they're not insanely crazy. Do you agree?
I guess Hachiro is doing pretty well socially lately! Hopefully, this will show Karl the benefits of putting yourself out there despite fears of being different. I like the fact that young people in Japan get together for a compa. I've always been shy and awkward when it comes to dating so it's nice they have a low pressure way to meet people. Have you ever been to one? We'll see how the dating party goes for Karl in next week's comics. Stay tuned!
Karl really should have known that Miki would say no to that! I guess that's why he had to put on the puppy dog eyes and beg. It's good language practice to watch Japanese tv and movies but Anime can get tricky. There's so much "anime language" that you don't know if real people actually use all of the words or just the characters in Japanese animation. Be careful studying Japanese from anime! Japanese people might chuckle at you if you use a phrase from anime that normal people would never. Trust me, I know...
Happy Valentines Day! Looks like J is getting a little love today. I don't think it's true love though... The Otaku girls really need a reality check. I'm pretty sure J will be vanishing any second now. If he were in Japan, the girls would be giving him valentines gifts and candy. It still amazes me that women in Japan are the ones that give men gifts on Valentine's Day. I hope you all are enjoying this day even if you don't have a valentine! You can believe what you want but I know from experience that there are Japanese people that enjoy spending time with foreigners only because they think they're cool. It's like hanging out with a movie star. For other Japanese people, foreigners seem interesting but very different and a bit strange. This doesn't come from racism or prejudice but simply ignorance. There just aren't that many chances for them to get to know people that are not Japanese. So, is it that far fetched to think that a woman would date a foreigner to look cool to her friends? I don't think this happens very much but it's not as far fetched as you might think.
