I wish that was true for me. I live in Japan and love okonomiyaki so much, and now and then by the ingredients to try and make it myself. All my attempts have been disasterously disgusting. I told my friend, and she said maybe I used low quality okonomiyaki flour because 'there's no way you can screw it up!' So I bought the best okonomiyaki flour and sauce and the best cabbage, followed the recipe.....and still ended up with vaguely okonomiyaki-flavoured garbage.

Maybe that changes when they invented the new math in the 70's when all of education seemed to have changed. So much seems to have been left out of "modern" education, History, geography, civics... We were all suppose to know history generally, at least, from the earliest record days to the present. Be able to at least find your own country on a globe and understand how your own government worked
